VLC 2.0.2 doesn't play RMVB or RM any more

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

VLC 2.0.2 doesn't play RMVB or RM any more

Postby blueskybreeze » 09 Jul 2012 11:06

There are many TV programs in .rmvb format on http://bt.hliang.com (downloaded by BT)

VLC 2.0.1 play them perfectly. But 2.0.2 doesn't...

So users who depend on playing .rmvb might need to re-install 2.0.1 instead? -- until VLC supports it again?

but what about those RMVB on that website? I think RMVB has gone through several format changes along the years.

Then please upload a sample to a more neutral website (like Dropbox, Rapidshare, or something).

Hi, a sample is on

https://rapidshare.com/#!download|649p3 ... 256894|0|0

but it may be slow... so another one which is faster is placed at

http://filepost.com/files/8cab95fm/kangxi-20120709.rmvb

I suspect that even after a few MB is downloaded, you can already see the difference between VLC 2.0.2 and 2.0.1...
