may I stream audio out as PCM S16 BE

Postby Alex Cotton » 29 Jul 2005 14:19

I can't find such a codec listed in VLC's stream output dialog. I guess it should be okay. What's the value for acodec ? Can I use it in the command line?

Thanks a lot.

on the command line is:

If I want to save S16L data, what extension of file should I use?

yes, it's okay to save S16L as wav.
In fact, when I changed the bitrate to 128 (ab=128), seems the result file is not using the bitrate I set. Maybe it's because the original samplerate is high.

The saved file is meaningless when I changed the bitrate and samplerate as
ab=128,channels=1,samplerate=8000 .
