help me on VLC 2.0 .... rec button & skin ?

hi, i am not expert, in VLC 2.0 in how mode function the “advanced control” ? I set up and
appear the snaphot and a red REC BUTTON, but I not know in how mode it function ???
Whit this button red is possible to register an piece of music (if I ear a mp3) or record a
Part of a movie (if I see a video) …if yes, in how mode I use this button to record ?

P.S. why I set up a different skin (like wmp or wmp-12) in this new theme NOT appear
This ADVANCED CONTROL ( the red record button and snapshot and others)
Is not possible to have this button with the no standard skin of VLC, if yes in how
Mode to appear it ? thanks and sorry for my bad English !

The Skins2 and Qt interfaces of VLC use different codebase so they don't share all of the features. And the red recording button does as is copying of input to the local hard drive. When you press the red recording button second time, the recording stops.

yes..i try and function ok ..both on mp3 and video ! GREAT vlc !

bad that the optional skins NOT have this red botton ! very bad !
