I have an HTC phone where I have made many videos of my grandsons and these are all in the 3GP format. They play all right in VLC.
But I want to share these with other people and display on my TV so I tried to use the VLC main menu function Media/Convert(Save) to save the video to mp4, which can be shown on my TV.
I have done so already for the AVI video produced by my Canon digital camera and it worked just fine (giving me a considerable file size saving in the process too).
When I use the function in VLC to save to mp4 and the source is any of the HTC videos in 3GP format, then when I start the save VLC immediately crashes!

All I see is the Windows message box saying it has crashed and that I can debug the program (how could I?) or close it.
Is there a solution to this problem?
