Support for MPGA files

Postby CSGalloway » 22 Mar 2012 03:33

I don't see if and if not would be great if VLC supported MPGA files too.

I have selected the MPGA file from within Explorer and the details just says it's a MPGA file - nothing about VLC being able to open it. And when I attempt to open it Windows says it can not open the file. So maybe I need help....????

Drag&drop the file to VLC.

Similar to my recent reply in the thread about .RA files - .MPGA files are not an option in the File Extension configuration area. Seems like a fairly easy fix...

So the latest would be in

http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... 0324-0204/

the "20120324-0204" is the date and I assume time? YYYYMMDD-HHMM ?

I just downloaded and installed the .EXE from http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... 0325-0004/ and I don't see MPGA in the file association list.....

Be great if with every nightlies build there would be a file of what has changed since the last official release.

Unfortunately we don't have system for that. Only option is to browse git logs.

As of: VLC media player 2.1.0-git-20120325-0004 Rincewind

RA, MPGA (selectable in Explorer, openable in Explorer, playable in VLC, not in Tools > Preferences, Setup Associations in VLC)

IMW (comes up as just IMV file, nothing about WMP or VLC)

WM ( comes up as Windows Media Audio/Video file in Explorer, nothing about a VLC file)

SWF (propritarty format)

RAM, WVX (openable, not playable)
