multiple output from 2 channel input

Postby canistel » 11 Feb 2012 18:50

Is there any way I can take a standard mp3 file with 2 channel input, and route that to 4 or 6 channel output? I have a MOTU usb soundcard with 5 of the outputs routed to a home reciever; what I would like to do is "copy" the left output to ASIO channel 1 and 3, the right output to ASIO 2 and 4, and send a mono / mixdown to ASIO output 5 (which is routed to my sub).

Any way to acomplish this natively inside VLC, or by using a vlc / asio / windows plugin of some sort?

VLC doesn't support ASIO. And VLC doesn't support upmixing.
