Can VLC player play "rtmp" streams?

Postby assemkh » 18 Jan 2012 01:11

Hi,
Can VLC player play rtmp streams like this:
rtmp://89.202.214.21/c821bd9f-5151-4f93-a784-23567cb56e2c/livestream
or this:
rtmp://flash57.ustream.tv/ustreamVideo/6335003/streams/live_1

If yes, how?

If no, could it be supported in the future?
and is there any other desktop media player I can use to play the stream at the moment? (rather than the classic embedded flash player)?
Thanks.

rtmp support is somewhat broken in current stable builds. If it would work, Media -> Open Network stream... would be the proper place to paste URLs.

You can play RTMP streams in your browser.
This program will generate the code for you.
