Playing file in same directory

Other than using the playlist, is there away to play the next file in the same directory? Watching a tv series with like 20 or so episodes located in the same jacket (file folder) is there away to have VLC media player automatically go to the next file without using the playlist. I have suggested this player to many friends who have installed it, and now enjoy using it, but many are having a hard time (not real good with computers period) with figuring out how to use the playlist. I Used to use the( Z**M Player by Inmatrix) which did have this feature (automatically resume to next File with same or different .ext on completion) ....I was hoping this could get incorporated into the VLC Player. I've tried to explain how to create a play list by highlighting all files and right mouse click and choose add to VLC media players list" But some of the older computer user are struggling to do this.... I know this seems silly, but i thought it worth a chance to ask, I have looked for this option in configuration settings but i could find it..... Thanks For Your time
