are you sure that it ever was ? Take look at the roadmap, this is planned for the future, hope to not shock you even more.

yes I'm sure. With vlc-0.7.2 I can play .flv flash movies correctly. On 0.8.2 the videoclips appers for a while and then quit.

They played on the last beta before 0.8.2 release. Suprised me when it didn't play my lone flv file. Now I just have to find that last beta again!

Any indication when the latest 8.2 VLC version will be upgraded to play flv clips as the 7.2 could?

Is there any way of playing flv clips in full screen with any other player?

tried the test version "vlc-0.8.2-test3-win32" and still the same problem with opening FLV files. opens for a couple moments then closes.

also, FYI "vlc-0.7.2-win32" doesn't help any either. it actually doesn't play FLV files at all.

I've also just made the same observation. VLC 0.8.1 (macosx) plays FLV files o.k., but VLC 0.8.2 does not. Just tried VLC 0.8.4-test2; it also FAILED to play the FLV files.

Would be cool if VLC could play flv files. I got some on my hard drive that I want to play :)

same here. 0.8.1 is the last version that can play FLV files. All subsequent versions seems not to. As a result, I'm keeping 0.8.1 around for my needs.

Hello

I installed Video Lan 0.8.1 and I am able to play flv files just fine. In fact, it's even better than any flv player I used.

I associated VLC with FLV files, but when I click twice on the flv file, only the player opens. So I have to drag the file into the player to open it.
It's not BIG deal... but anyway... if anyone knows what command I have to put on Windows configuration to play it automatically, I'd appreciate it.
I am using Windows 98SE.

Thanks

I confirm the same thing. It only plays in 0.8.1. It won't play in 0.8.0, and below, or in 0.8.2, and above. What was so special about 0.8.1?

BTW I went and got myself 0.8.1, just to play FLV files:

http://downloads.videolan.org/pub/video ... .1/macosx/

This sounds like a bug. Something got added and then lost. Can anyone in the deve team work out what?

I jumped from 0.8.1 to 0.8.5 and everything was copacetic... until I tried to play an .FLV file, and the player opened, then immediately collapsed to its idle state.

Please make .FLV work again! If you need input, logfiles, etc. from me, please feel free to instruct me and I will collect them for you.
