You need to set a font in our textrendere module that has Simplified Chinese characters. And if the file isn't UTF-8, then you probably need to select a correct file encoding in the list as well (you can set this in the subtitles dialog window when you choose Open File in the File menu of VLC.I am so sorry to see it.Actually,I cann't see --- I cann't see the subtitle.
one ssa sub, I'd like to upload it,but I don't know how to do it.
Besides, another ssa sub, I can see something at the buttom of the video. But they are not words at all.I think perhaps that means font loaded failed.Simplified Chinese font. Can you give me some advices?
Oh, I nearly forget it. My OS is XP SP2.
Yes, I did so as Preferences to Video toSubtitles/OSD to Text renderer, didn't I?

The problem is that how can I know which correct encoding the file is.And if the file isn't UTF-8, then you probably need to select a correct file encoding in the list as well (you can set this in the subtitles dialog window when you choose Open File in the File menu of VLC.

Any useful tools?
1: A lot of older mkv files that used DivX with B-frames were actually incorrectly muxed into the fileformat. This was an issue recently discovered in the creation applications and since fixed. The reason that this issue was found was some redesign work in the VLC demuxer of matroska. Basically all DivX video with B-frames that were created earlier are therefor now broken0.8.2 - test2 and test3 both drop most of the video frames when I try to play a .mkv file. 0.8.1 does not have this problem. This is on Mac OS X 10.4.1 and the video track is divx 5.2.1.
Also, when closing the video window during playback of the above file, I get the following errors.
main: cannot delete object (247, (null)) with children
main: refcount is 1, I have a bad feeling about this
main: we waited too long, cancelling destruction
Thank you for working on VLC. It is definitely the best media player.
