VLC double frame rate?

Postby thejulianath20 » 10 Aug 2011 04:45

I have been using VLC for a few years now after using MPC for years before... But I just found and started using MPC-HC with double frame rates and it is awesome! I just can't get the feature of switching audio device like with VLC (stereo or spdif)!

Can VLC take 24fps and turn it into 48fps, maybe with other codecs?

Turn 24fps into 48fps? That does not make much mathematical sense.

It is called Frame Interpolation. It takes frames and inbetween the 2 frames it creates a new blended frame from the original 2 frames. I explained it poorly but here in avsforums it explains it better: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthre ... st20804084

So right now I use SVP (Smooth Motion Player) with MPC-HC with Haali Media Splitter and FFdshow. It removes stutter in camera pan scenes and makes all of movies and TV shows look much much smoother or more to real life. It works a lot like a higher hz TV does.
