Subtitles on Vlc disappear while pausing...

Hi when i play .mkv container file the subtitles immediately disappear while pausing.

so if i would want to pause to have more time to read the subtitle, that is impossible. That is really annoying, as far as i remember that wasn't so in the past.
i could also provide a sample file if anyone would need it.

hmm i only ever came across 3 anime;s that do this to me which makes me wonder is this a intermittant issue or just a specific type of encoding for the subtitles track.

It depends on the timing of the subtitles.
