Watching TV shows.

Postby dntknwhw2b » 20 Apr 2011 12:18

I've been using VLC since 0.98 ...
I'm just stating to play around with the media browser. I go to that one called channels.com and I can not get it to go to the channel or show that I want. It seems to want to show me what it wants me to watch. I live on a fixed income. So HULU was a blessing in disguise. No more cable payments!!! I watch all of my TV on the Internet these days. My monitor is a 52 inch LED TV. My PC has HDMI output. So I just connect it to my TV and it comes out fine. There is not much that is on the Internet for free now. Most all of my favorite shows are on somewhere. The best part is that I get to watch them when I want. Being disabled. I do have problems watching a show right when the cable channel puts it on. And paying close to $100.00 for TV and phone was killing me. Now I use Clear. Half the price for the two.
Now to get away from that. I want to learn how to control the Internet part of VLC. Maybe it's so new that it just hasn't evolved that much. I have HULU Desktop player. I go on line and subscribe to shows. and put others into a queue. So I can ether watch the shows that I want online or my desktop. I'm hoping that is what VLC is trying to do.
So where do I read up about this stuff? How do I learn to control it better?

Thanks !
