I'm not a big user of media players, but have been using vlc when possibility. My level of competency generally consists of following menus somewhat at random, but I can generally get the job done.
I had vlc set up with two internet radio items on my playlist, a shoutcast from a bluegrass station, and the news feed from local public radio.
The public radio station changed its url. I now get an announcement to that effect.
I found the new url which works in my browser (firefox), but it doesn't work for vlc. Vlc just flashes the title and quits.
I access the audio from an icon on my desktop. Following are the station entries from the xspf file.
