Subtitles question

Postby SadisticMagician » 31 Jan 2011 05:56

Is there any way that you can permanantly keep subtitles on for a certain movie? I have a movie that's only in swedish and can watch it with english subtitles on the computer, but i dont know how to keep them on so i can burn it to a dvd.

Thanks

Just use a video conversion program. Actually, you can convert your video by not changing its format, but specify a subtitle file with the content you wish to hardsub into your video. Such converter is, for example, FormatFactory.

I also have a question:
When playing 16:9 movies there is quite a large black portion of the screen (above and below the movie) left unused. I would like VLC to sho the subtitles in this lower black zone. In this may, the moci would be more enjoyable, without subtitles interferring with the image.
There is a Setting option in VLC: Tools->Preferences->Subtitles&OSD->Force subtitle position, but this is not suitable for playing the subtitles above the movie clip, outside of the videoclip area. Any good suggestion for this?

In this Way, the moViE would be more enjoyable...
