Allow converted and steamed files to do both video and audio

Postby klawdek » 13 Jan 2011 15:16

It would be nice if VLC could convert and stream both the audio and the video rather than it picking only one or the other. Either that or remove these features as they are pretty useless unless they do both the audio and the video.

I would like to also add that the converted file is of poor quality. When VLC chooses audio to convert it stops and starts and pops. When it chooses video the video stops and starts and pixilates. These problems are not playback issues they are part of the output file

What encoders you used and what bitrates?

You can adjust bitrates by either changing vb and ab values of transcode part or use GUI and create new profile with higher bitrates.

vb ab values of transcode part? What is a transcode part?
Why doesn't it just do the conversion with both audio and video? Or just have an option to pick for audio and video?

I think they should just have a feature that you can select to convert both the video and the audio. Forget about the transcode parts. Just make a feature to convert both the video AND audio.

It would help if you told us what you have tried and what messages VLC displays.
