Hello,
I am using VLC to read video / audio MPEG TS files recorded on Dreambox satellite receivers. I have two Dreambox at home, an old one (DM7000) and a recent one (DM800)
MPEG TS files for french radio from CSAT provider (Europe1, RTL etc ...) on the newer dreambox are not read by VLC (VLC remains silent)
Using the old Dreambox, everything is OK
Here is a TS file produced by the OLD DREAMBOX - Europe1 - MPEG TS can be read from VLC - OK
http://stormacq.com/VLC/dm700-europe1.ts (1.5 mb)
Here is a TS file produced by the NEW DREAMBOX - Europe1 - MPEG TS CAN NOT be read from VLC - NOK
http://stormacq.com/VLC/dm800-europe1.ts (8 mb)
The VLC log when reading this file is available here : http://stormacq.com/VLC/vlc-log.rtf
When demultiplexing the TS with ProjectX, it produces in BOTH CASES a valid MP2 file that can be read with VLC.
All the files produced by the demultiplexing process (including LOGs) are available here : http://stormacq.com/VLC/
This seems to be specific to CSAT radios, other FTA radios MPEG TS can be read when produced on the new dreambox.
VLC is not the only application having difficulties with these files. iTunes can not read them either.
I tested this with VLC 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 on Mac OS X and Linux.
Bug on the Dreambox ? Bug in VLC ?
What is wrong in this TS file ?
How can I further help to solve this ?
Thanks
Seb
