Postby Paoflor » 27 Sep 2010 21:09

Hi,

I am trying to connect with a virtual course, but when I login to my personal account, appear a message that say "your VLC plugin has not been detected".
I already have the last version of the VCL 1.1.3 for mac os x 10.5.8

Please help me with this problem, any have an idea??

Thanks!

Do you have the VLC plugin in either of the following locations:
- /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
- ~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Providing logs, messages, configuration info (VLC, OS, Hardware) and a clear explanation of the issue always helps the problem solvers help you, even if they don't end up solving the issue. Just think what you would need if you were solving someone else's problem. Additional: Always looking for eager and capable MacOS X developers to join the VLC team - for more information see here.

VLC's browser plugin is a separate download. You can find it on VLC's for Mac OS X download page.

@ajmas; Installing the browser plugin to a user folder isn't supported as some required libraries won't be found this way btw.

Is anyone working on an update for the VLC plugin for Mac?

The latest version in binary form is 1.0.5, which was a while back. Does it support 64-bit Safari?

At present, nobody is working at all on any VLC browser plugin, which is why development stalled.

While I saw some patches adding 64bit support to the plugin, these aren't back-ported to our stable release branch, which is why I estimate a 64bit release of the plugin in Q1/2011.

vlc plugin 1.1.3 opens new window(instance) for video when used in safari.

vlc plugin 1.0.5 works fine.

I think it is problem with drawable..

I want to use functionalities available in vlc 1.1.3 plugin like marquee text and logo.

Can any one know how to embed it in browser window for vlc 1.1.3???

Has anyone be able to get the VLC plugin to work on Snow Leopard? I'm running 10.6.7 with VLC plugin 1.0.5 and it doesn't seem to be working in Firefox or Safari. Has anyone had any luck? I'm trying to listen to a concert by Elbow on the following page from St. Paul's Cathedral that's being streamed in FLAC:
