Multiple Different VLC Installs

Is it possible to have multiple Installs of VLC each with a different version? Due to bugs in various versions, I have a need to have an 8/15 nightly build installed to generate streams, but I would also like to have the released 1.1 installed for normal video playing, and the latest nightly build installed for testing. Currently I have to keep installing and uninstalling these various versions as required which is a real pita.

Install only the version you want to use on daily usage. Then download .7z/.zip version of other builds and just extract them to somewhere and run them from there.
