Youtube not working anymore

Hi there.
I upgraded my VLC client from 1.0.5 to 1.1.1 (through automatic updates). Now I cannot open any youtube videos. When I try to open a network file, and then copy/paste the youtube url it simply does not play a thing. The time counts to 00.00 and no video nor audio nor error log gets out of the app.
Looked over the net and found some issues about the youtube.lua script, but I have only a youtube.luac and a youtube_homepage.luac script. Tried to copy/paste a youtube.lua script found on the net, and saved it as youtube.lua, but it gives me an "VLC cannot recognise MRL" error.

Don't know what more to try ... _

Try a clean install. There's a freeware program called AppCleaner that works very well for that.

Edit: Hmmm... doesn't work on my VLC 1.1.1 either.

Does not work with AppCleaner, nor AppZapper.
And where the heck is this version of VLC? If I google it it gives me no results.

On the mac the youtube.lua file is actually youtube.luac and is a scrambled message.

I saw it but it didn't work with version 1.1.1. But I tried with version 1.1.2 and now it works. Thanx!
