Two VLC simultaneously

Two VLC simultaneously

Hi,

Is it possible under Linux to play two movies under two VLC with the audio of the two movies simultaneously?

I have tried but it don't works : I can only listen the audio of the first launched movie.

It depend on the audio output you use, and the audio card. if you use OSS the simple answer is No. If you use alsa the answer is yes, if your soundcard supports several inputs. I think alsa can be configured to do mixiing in software as well, but I'm not sure how.

You can also play two movies in one vlc, and get the sound for both, this will, however be a bit harder to do (search documentation for VLM if you deside to try that out)
