Snap shots.

Postby Daedric » 28 Jun 2010 07:45

I a few questions about taking snapshots in vlc.

Formats used:
.MKV
.MP4

Resolutions:
1980 x 1080
1024 x 720

I have 3 files that I tried taking snapshots out of, 2 are 1080p and one is 720p. I have a significant quality loss on my 1080p snaps (more specifically .MKV) and they come out highly pixelated. The 720p comes out a but better, but no as well. I looked through VLC and I couldn't find anything that had too do with quality, so I came here.

I'm sure I over looked a thread explaining this, but might I trouble you for an answer?

Thank you for your time.

This was already reported, and it might be because the buffer for screenshots is too little for 1080p. Did you try jpg instead of png?

I tried both formats, they came out the same.
