GOOM crashes VLC every time

Hello
I am using latest windows version of vlc 1.0.5, using windows XP professional sp2, Intel xeon, 2gb ram, nvidia quadro nvs 285 video card.

I read a posting to type %appdata%vlc and hit enter...doesn't do anything.

All visualizers work great, specially directx wallpaper (such great feature), but since last update or 2 updats ago, GOOM visualizer just crashes VLC every time, right away. It does not work anymore.
Any fixes coming up? it is my favorite visualizer.
Also, are there ways to get more visualizers for VLC besides the ones installed?

VLC 1.1.0 should support some scriptable visualizers. Then you can easily download new effects.

GOOM visualizer just crashes VLC every time, right away. It does not work anymore.

Same thing happens to me with 1.1.0-pre1 on Win2K
