VLS-Can we convert DVDs,VCDs and Video to mpeg2-ts format

Postby Vishwanath » 11 Mar 2005 05:09

We have got a video server that can stream mpeg2-ts files and it is being fine tuned to suit the network requirements, but it can play only mpeg2-ts files.

Now we are looking for something that can convert high quality DVDs to mpeg2-ts files for a BitRate of 4mbps. We are also looking for VCDs to be converted to this mpeg2-ts files.

According to the documents that i read all this is possible and also video from tv tuner cards can be streamed directly using the VLS,

I wanted to know how do we do the following

1) DVD to mpeg2-TS
2) VCD to mpeg2-TS
3) Direct streaming from a tv tuner card

Can we use VLS for this :?:

You should be able to do that using VLS ... but we strongly recommend that you use VLC instead. VLC can do every thing VLS can do and much more (except some slight problems concerning DVB cards)
