Streaming from Youtube

I know that it is possible to play local files, but why can't I stream something (youtube video) that I am streaming to my computer? Is this too advanced for this time period?

Youtube integration
As VLC can read a Youtube input, so does VLMC. However, this is not implemented at this time. This project would consist in : importing media from youtube , allowing direct export to youtube, directly export to youtube, instead of a file.

Youtube links used to work, but after some YouTube change the lua script that parsed them doesn't work anymore. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.
