Bug Report - Using PlayLists

Postby smudger » 01 Apr 2010 14:01

There seems to be no way of putting away the current PlayList A in use in order to to use another. Selecting another PlayList B simply appends the files to the current PlayList being used. i.e we now have PlayLists A+B

The only workarounds are:-

a) to individually delete each item in the current Playlist A and leave the items appended from the new PlayList B which can take a long long time if PlayList A has more than a couple of items in the List

or b) to quit VLC and restart it with a clear and empty PlayList and repeat Quit every time you want to use a new PlayList c, D, E etc. Unsatisfactory but a lot better than Option a ! :?

It seems that the playlist screen could use some enhancements:

- Ability to either append or replace current entries when opening another playlist or file

- Ability to remove multiple items easily. Currently, if you select everything in the playlist and try to right-click > delete, you can only delete one file. Also, the delete key on the keyboard has no effect whether one or multiple files are selected.

I'll second those 'enhancements' !
