"No Video" Message before multicast traffic starts flowing

Postby xpojosh » 02 Mar 2010 01:25

Hello!

I am using VLC to play a UDP multicast stream. It can take a couple of seconds before the the multicast traffic starts flowing, due to the delay inherent in the IGMP process (as the multicast join propagates the switch backbone). Sometimes, during this delay VLC will display a "No Video" message. Once the multicast start flowing the message goes away.

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the "no video" message, or to increase the time out value that will trigger the message?

Thanks kindly!
josh
