problem in running vlc

thanks for earlier replies.. now i am done with it..
i have installed vlc..

the problem now is:

In LINUX, i can play vlc when i login as ROOT(administrator).
but i cant when i login as a different user..

it says:
Xlib cant open 0.0
Permission denied..

i want to run vlc even if login as different user...
plz help me out...
