vlc conflicts

Postby karmegam » 16 Feb 2005 15:50

In LINUX i had vlc 0.7.1 and i tried installing the rpm vlc-0.8.1
then it says vlc conflicts with videolan-client

what should i do to install vlc-0.8.1?

kindly tell me the requirements for updating to the newer version.

thanks

videolan-client is basically the former name for VLC. Simply remove your former vlc version and then install the new one. RPM should not complain either when trying to upgrade :

rpm -Uv vlc*.rpm
