vlc opening a dvb source

Hello,
i got a DVB card and i got the /dev/dvb/adapter0 device.
But in the tutorial there is only described how to set the vlc up with the dev/v4l/ or /dev/video0 device.

How can i playback from the /dev/dvb/... source???

i got the latest kernelversion from kernel.org. which included all drivers for my dvb card.

any ideas??
