No Suitable Demux Module, and other errors, (help!)

I have recently discovered VLC and am backing up my DVD collection incase they get nicked or something.
I use the following settings.
File Name; x.mp4
Encapsulation; mp4
Video Codec; Mpeg 4, 1750 kb/s
Audio Codec; Mp4 (AAC), 128 kb/s

Some videos though dont load once they've been ripped.
An error message pops up saying.

VLC can't recognize the input's format:
The format of 'F:\Music And Video\DVD\Harold And Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay.mp4' cannot be detected. Have a look the log for details.

If anyone can explain what's going wrong then i'd really appreciate it.
It might just be that the conversion went wrong at some point n i should repeat it or something else.

Any help is greatly appreciated, i have no idea what the code above means, especially why it's saying 'cant recognise input format' when it's the same as every other video that works.

p.s. if it makes any difference then i'm using Vista but i dont know why that'd have an effect on some videos not working

Your MP4 file is missing some data that VLC needs. VLC can't play. No way around this.

If you have made your MP4 files with VLC, I believe the MP4 muxer is broken (ticket #2715).

However remuxing using AviDemux or MP4Box should be enough for making working MP4 files without reencoding.
