This problem occurs with only some files, but not all.

Oddly, Media Player Classic can play the files the VLC cannot play.

Media Player Classic can use DirectShow decoders that can decode WVC1 (aka VC-1) video directly. Anyone wants to share a sample file?

VLC can play WVC1 video streams but it just can't play them from a M2TS container for some reason.

I guess the splitter is the faulty part and needs to be updated.

VLC also doesn't even detect the presence of DTS-MA (HD) audio streams but only the AC3 one.

FYI MPlayer and MPC-HC are now able to play such files so the source code for both the splitter and DTS HD is available.

No, they can't decode DTS-MA HD.
And VLC can decode TrueHD audio too.

Try to play the BARAKA sample with these builds and you'll see, well hear, that it works.

And VLC can decode TrueHD audio too.

okay if vlc wont play blue ray .ts i believe, USE a CONVERTER !!!!!!!! if you can waste money on blue ray ($800) then 24gb on your computer should be anything at all (blue rays are 24gb converting them to the destop should take about 24gb also unless you use rmvb) i got 2TB of junk

Yes, true, but at least they can play these DTS streams whilst VLC 0.9.8a can't for now.

The file is playing fine in VLC 0.9.8a but only the AC3 stream is detected. It seems that VLC doesn't even recognize the presence of the DTS stream.

On a sidenote the video stream contains frames that change from progressive to interlaced and vice versa. Might be usefull for testing purposes
