Radio Stream of m3u-File

Good day, together.

my name is Sandro and I'm very new with VLC and this board.
I hope I'm right and some could help me.
My problem is I want to record an audio stream. I'm just looking and trying some webpages and proposals - but nothing is worling.

I want to record the radio stream with VLC 0.9.8a
http://www.radiobremen.de/stream/live/bremenvier.m3u

It is a German radio. So someone couldn't understand what they are talking

Ok, I'm using the option Save/Stream with a lot of differnet selections but eithere the file is empty with 0 byte or the file increase but I couldn't hear something if I play the file. I've tried different formats, different guides, different all. But nothings works.

My last sout was this:

I can hear the stream, and I guess the stream will be recorded but if I play the file I can't hear anything.

I there anyone who can give me the right solution? It will be great!

I had the same problem. I figured out that the m3u file is not the stream to record, it's a playlist. To solve the problem I did as follows:

1.- Play the stream with mplayer. This will tell you the contents of the playlist. For example, to play the address [1], I used the command [2]. The output was something like [3].

2.- Now record as you reported with the new addess [4]

Anyway, I think this is an bug in VLC, but I new to this software so I can't tell.

HI I had the same problem. I played the m3u-url but it did not tell me the contents of the playlist directly. I found the proper url for the stream in tools-statistics (extras-statistiken) on the bottom there is a field for location (ort). Use that url and continue as you described.
