VideoLAN for narrowcasting

is it possible to use this software for narrowcasting ?

say you have a pc with vlc running full screen playing every video file in a folder on the hard drive. then suppose you're able to log onto it and control it and add/delete movie files?

is this doable?

You can control VLC via a web interface, so yes that should be doable. You can find it in the preferences under interfaces.
