VOB File help

Postby biferi » 09 Mar 2009 22:21

I try to Convert VOB Files from a DVD to any other File type with VLC and it wont wok.

It may be because the DVDs are Incripted.

So I got DVD Decrypter and I need some help understanding how to use it.

It Auto Loads all of the DVDs Files and I can see them.

And I know you can use the Dropdown List to Select
Just VOB Files Only
or you can Select
Just IFO Files Only.

But what if you only want the Therd Epasode.
How do I find ware it is???

Moved to Coffee Corner since this is relating to DVD Decrypter not VLC.

If open DVD Decrypter and go to "Mode >> IFO" then you can select different titles/chapters.

For example it may look like this:

If "VTS_03" is the third episode (a reasonable assumption) select it, then tick all of the chapters in it. Then press the decrypt button when you have selected the episode(s) you want to rip.

To ensure that you yet one file-per-episode you might want to change file splitting settings by going to "Tools >> Settings..." and clicking on the "IFO Mode" tab etc.

Yeh that sounds about the right size. DVD Decryer does not compress/re-econde the video/audio. If you wanted to reduce the size (but still keep in in DVD format) a tool such as DVD Shrink (find it here) would be better suited.

Coffee Corner, as is said in the description, is "Just have a drink and chat" - i.e. where non-VLC/VideoLAN specific questions and chat can go.

I moved you topic to the Coffee Corner forum (or section) - not a different website :).

Cofee Corner is near the bottom of the index page (in the "Other" category section).
