SDI with embedded audio channels

Postby pescador » 16 Feb 2009 23:02

Hi everybody:
I have a problem with the interface SDI of a Deckink video capture board using VLC (0.9.8 a)
This interface includes one video and 2 embedded stereo audios (one in spanish and one in english)
Using the direct show interface of VLC I can see the video but both audio channels are played at the same time and it is not possible to select only one of them.

Do you know if is it possible to select only one of the audio channels?

Thanks in advance

So you see the SDI audio device in there and when it is selected as capture source, you hear two different audios? Have you tried to change audio pin?

Hi,
Im going to explain my problem with more details.
I have an SDI interface with one video channel and two embedded stereo channels (one in english and one in spanish)
This SDI interface is connected to my DeckLink video and audio capture board.
VLC sees the board and I can see the video without any problem but VLC "think" that both audio channels are a 4 speakes audio stream so it plays both at the same time.
In the VLC audio menu only one audio track appear and in the audio device menu I can choose amount mono, stereo or 2 rear/2front. In any case both audio channels are mixed and played at the same time.

I have tested changing the audio pin in the capture device but the results are always the same. I have check the DirectShow filter using graphedt.exe and only one pin is available in the Decklink audio capture filter

I believe that the problem is that VLC only identify one program. So is it possibe to control the programs in VLC? Is it possible to require the VLC to use 2 audio programs?

Thanks in advance
Fernando

I think support for that would require code changes. If you can mute the other channel using some program, that should work, but it isn't the best solution if you have to change the channel multiple times every day.
