VLC skips 1/2 sec every few minutes

Postby billallyn » 17 Feb 2009 02:49

VLC used to work great for me, but I upgraded to a new computer and the new version, and now it does about a 1/2 second skip (both audio and video) every 3 to 5 minutes or so (when playing a DVD Disc). I have nothing else running. CPU usage varies between 1-3 percent while video is playing. Funny, this used to work fine on my Pentium 3 600Mhz computer.

My new computer:
Windows xp
Core Duo Quad Processor at 2.66 Ghz
250 Gig OS drive, 1.5 tera-byte files drive
4 gigs low latency RAM, Win XP only recognizes 3.4 gigs

You'd think that'd be enough!

What does Tools -> Messages... (set Verbosity to 2) say when problem comes up?
