So I have a lot of .mkv files, primarily in High-Definition. I noticed that on alot of my .mkv files that when set to play in 5.1 the center channel did not work (I was unable to hear the voices of the characters, but music and sound effects all worked). At first I just thought it was just a few of my videos, but when I looked deeper I noticed that all the videos with 5.1 DTS audio codecs had the problem.
Is this another issue with VLC, is it unable to decode 5.1 DTS audio properly? Is there a setting I can switch to that will make it work?
I did have to switch the video codec to allow multi-core decoding, could this have caused the problem?
Thanks!
Edit: I have a Creative X-fi ExtremeMusic soundcard and Logitch Z-5500 5.1 speakers (which are DTS certified), so I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware issue.
