Subtitles in MKV file

Postby Xpire » 17 Nov 2008 03:24

Hi guys,

Just updated my VLC player to the new version, from an older 0.8.x version.
Just tried playing an MKV file this morning, and the subtitles worked fine. In the new version however, the subtitles are enabled, but they aren't showing up.

Sorry if this has been asked before, tried searching around the forums but all i could find were questions about altering subtitle fonts :x

Thanks

Same problem. It's because they broke .ass subtitle support or some kind of subtitle support. This is what i hate about VLC, poor subtitle support.

Just use CCCP or Gom Player or The KMPlayer for now.

Thanks for replying, does this apply to all MKV files?

VLC has always been good to be, I can just wait it off...hopefully they fix it before exams are over, or else I won't know what to do... :(

I see that this problem still hasn't been fixed yet :(

I just plan to uninstall 0.9.6 for now and re-install an older version. Which is the version should i install? 0.9.5?

Has this issue been fixed? I am trying to play a mkv file with A.S.S. subs but they do not show. Works fine in MPC
