Maybe something to do with the output color space ?
Just an idea :)

There is something strange with VLC 0.9.2 release and the DMO codecs.

I'm playing a WMVA file and this codec is NOT installed on my system, so I have copied the DLL "WMVADVD.DLL" into the main VLC folder.

I'm using the DMO switch and I got this log:

Code: Select all

main debug: looking for decoder module: 37 candidates dmo debug: found DMO: WMAudio Decoder DMO dmo debug: DMO input type set dmo debug: DMO output type set dmo debug: GetOutputSizeInfo(): bytes 16384, align 1 main debug: using decoder module "dmo" main debug: TIMER module_Need() : 4.000 ms - Total 4.000 ms / 1 intvls (Avg 4.000 ms) main debug: thread 5244 (decoder) created at priority 2 (input/decoder.c:217) main debug: thread started main debug: looking for decoder module: 37 candidates dmo debug: no such class object avcodec debug: libavcodec initialized (interface 3360512 ) avcodec debug: ffmpeg codec (Windows Media Video Advanced Profile) started main debug: using decoder module "avcodec"
I've tried to put the WMVADVD.DLL into the plugins folder but I got the same result, it's using AVCODEC and not the DLL.

Looks like it doesn't want to use the external DLL if this DLL is not registered as a system codec: "dmo debug: no such class object".
I'm sure it was working fine with the test builds as shown in one of my previous posts:

Yes. This is exactly the issue. It outputs on the GBR space and not YUV.
