Cannot exit VLC on XP

Postby rph123 » 16 Apr 2008 11:49

I've installed VLC 0.8.6d on XP.

When I run vlc from a command bat file as mosaic with some looping mp4 channels running, I cannot exit the VLC by clicking on top rh exit control.

Only way to kill it is from task manager.

Has anybody encountered this?

Thanks

I have the exact same problem. This wasn't a problem before, but I had to format my hard drive recently and re-install everything. Now, VLC is realy acting up on me.

First time I try to play a video file after booting up, everything is fine. If I close VLC and try to play another, all i get is audio and a black screen where the video should be. After some investigation, I realized that VLC don't shut down properly and I have to kill the application from the task manager just like you described. However, even if I do this, VLC still won't playback videos properly until I do a full reboot.

I have tried three different versions of VLC and the same thing happens with every one of them.
