X-FI remote keymap

Postby tatsudoshi » 17 Mar 2008 01:04

DISCONTINUED
I went ahead and bought intelliremote as I realized the only reason most of these WM_COMMANDs were working was because I had girder installed. And since intelliremote was way more intuitive I went that way.

Hi, I am trying to make a good keymap for x-fi remote control for vlc 0.8.6c.
I am having problems getting it to go to fullscreen. I have tried to capture the wparam with girder, and it showed 9002 using the menuline and 12002 using right-click menu but no luck. Can someone here help me get any futher with this?

When I am done I will gladly share the keymap if anyone :mrgreen: needs it

Status currently is:
+ Play/Pause
+ Stop
+ Next/Prev (in playlist)
+ Faster/Slower
+ Fullscreen toggle

To come: (I hope)
- Quick open (and select file using arrow keys for playback)
- Open / Close VLC (In case it crashes)

Thanks for the help

UPDATE 2008-3-25:
I found `a´ number which seem to work. Still it was for the 0.8.6.c so I am going to try the `e´ version tonight.

So fare:
Go to <\Creative\Sound Blaster X-Fi\Entertainment Center\KeyMap>
Make or copy on of the other keymaps and name it vlc.key

vlc.key
-------------------------------
KeyName=Fullscreen
Notification=2
KeyEventRemap=78553
HandleByApp=1

KeyName=Play/Pause
Notification=2
KeyEventRemap=7108
HandleByApp=1

KeyName=Next
Notification=2
KeyEventRemap=7111
HandleByApp=1

KeyName=Previous
Notification=2
KeyEventRemap=7110
HandleByApp=1

KeyName=Faster
Notification=2
KeyEventRemap=6024
HandleByApp=1

KeyName=Slower
Notification=2
KeyEventRemap=6023
HandleByApp=1

KeyName=Stop
Notification=2
KeyEventRemap=7112
HandleByApp=1

I believe that you should be able to send the wm_command for the letter f (the default quick key for fullscreen) just need to know which handle to send it to.

Other commands can be also be sent using this technique.

You could also save yourself a ton of trouble and use Intelliremote to control your X-FI remote and control VLC completely.

Thanks but using more money just doesn't seem like saving anything :wink:
And since I am a software engineer I think this kind of thing is funny.
But thanks for the input

No problem! Its just a lot of users want something really easy and aren't at the software engineer level to figure this out or even know what WM_COMMAND's are!
