If some one could run threw what some of this means that would be helpful in future posts aswell.
As for the post for Gibalou I am not sure how to check to see if my kernal has been compiled with the new alsa support how would I check that.Finally the vlc -l|grep alas returned:

alsa ALSA audio output
Which I believe is good?
