*My english is not so good, i hope you guys understand me*
Hi there,
I have been user of VLC for many years now, and you guys are great. It's a super program! But now i have a problem, it is the first problem i have ever had with vlc.. but it's a big problem ...
A few months ago i did a clean install of windows XP, and i ofcourse installed VLC, my computer is up and running.. NO virusses are what so ever, i am not a computer-expert but i know alot of computers/ software and i know how to keep my computer clean..
So everything works, although not everthing. Because when i play a movie (for example an .avi file) with VLC it works fine, and i can watch the movie, make screencaptures, press pause/play, skip peaces BUT as soon as i close VLC-mediaplayer (by clicking the X button ore typ ALT-F4) my computer crashes afther about 5-10 seconds after i closed it...
I could still move my mouse, but i can't open programs. The programs that are already open do not respond anymore. I can still go to start, but when i try to restart or close my computer it does not respond.. So the only solution is to hold the on/off button on my computer for 5 seconds and restart the computer...
I have managed to make a screenshot of my task-manager (task manager works, but i can't close programs with it, but it does show me the CPU statics)>
As you can see the proces; 'system' uses 50% ..
NOTE:
This only happens when i close VLC.. i have numberous of other programs / games on my computer and everything works fine. VLC works fine too, but when i close it the proces system takes 50% cpu and not any program is responding...
I tried:
- Reinstalling VLC...
Computer specs:
- Windows XP SP2 proffesional (enlish version)
- Intel pentium dual core 2.8
- 2 * 1 GB ram
- GeForce 7600GT
Al drivers are up-to-date.
I am using Winamp for audio-files > VLC for video-files .. but not anymore
Does anyone know what this could be? COuld anyone help me pleaze!
