Help with http streaming

Postby bschie » 04 Oct 2007 02:37

So my plan is.... I want to stream my playlist from home to my work computer at.... work :-P

My home computer is running Win XP pro as well as my work computer. My work computer is using VLC media player 0.8.6b and my home computer is using VLC 0.8.5.

Ok so I VNCed into my computer at home.
The correct ports are opened (for VNC and streaming)

If I try the method of going File>Wizard>Stream to Network>Existing playlist item>HTTP (blank)>MPEG TS

It works for one song only and when it ends, the stream stops even though I have more songs on the play list. It even works when I close the VNC client so I know it's playing from my work computer.

If I try the method of going File>Wizard>Stream to Network>Select a stream (and I open a playlist file)>HTTP (blank)>MPEG TS

My work computer cannot connect to the stream at all. I get the same result with UDP and RTP.

Any ideas? Thank you in advanced
