some strange bug with vlc

FreeBSD 6.2, Xorg 7.2,

Vlc menu looks corrupted, also some garbage at vlc --help output where russian words are mixed with enlish and non printed simbols.

tested at 0.8.6c and svn0.9.0 20070701

i already saw that.

can you try:

cd po/
rm *.gmo
make install

in the build directory ?

I just copy en_GB.pmo and en_GB.po accordingly to ru.pmo and ru.po and it's works. But I'll try your hint too.
Is this known bug or some other type of incompatibility? Will it be fixed in coming releases?

I don't know where it comes from, it may be a bug in the build process :/ i don't think this has been investigated
