config VLC to start "high" priority, NOT "AboveNormal" prior

Postby citizenkeys » 23 Jul 2007 05:32

There is STILL no way to configure VLC to always run in "high priority" when it starts. "increase the priority of the process" in the preferences only sets VLC to run in what Windows considers to be "AboveNormal" priority. I need VLC to run in "high priority" to prevent any sort of delay when playing videos on older computers. I still have to manually set VLC to run in "high priority" by opening task manager, right-clicking the process, and changing it manually to "High".

VLC version: OVER 9000!!!
Operating System: It's...blue screen
Location: Heaven? No no. What's that other place that starts with an "H"? Oh yes: Home. ^_^

What are you talking about, the option should be in there (Tools > Preferences > Advanced > "Increase the priority of the process"). Do you have the latest version of VLC installed? :?

Yes, I have the latest version. But it increases the process to a priority that windowsXP considers (in task manager) to be merely "AboveNormal" priority, *NOT* "high" priority.
