Issue shutting off laptop monitor while vlc plays on tv.

I drag vlc to a tv so i can continue to work on my laptop while I view vlc on my tv. I'm trying to get my laptop screen to go into screensaver mode or shutdown when i'm not using the laptop but still want the vlc player to run on the tv without it going to screen saver. Is this possible? Any other ideas?

Well there are two things you could do:
1) Find a "broken" screensaver - many will only cover one monitor and leave the others alone.
2) Close the laptop, it should shut the screen off while keeping the TV output on.

Windows doesn't have any way that I know of to turn off one monitor and keep another on, though.

I've heard this is possible....Anyone have any ideas? Bottom line, I just want my laptop monitor to shutdown or go into screensaver mode.
Also, please answer with some viable reasoning besides "No, it won't work"

Thanks Hyperhacker, What is this "broken" screensaver you speak of? Never heard of it?

What is it that you don't understand about NO it can't be done? There is no feature within Windows to allow you to do this and I have never seen a feature on a a dual headed video card that allows this to be done.
