High motion 1080p content is laggy

Im a very happy user of VLC, especially now that it actually skips to the point I click on, on the timeline, but Im still having a major problem when playing very high bitrate/frame size content, such as x264 1080p .mkv files, and some very high rate 720p .mkv files as well. The video tends to get blocky when there is lots of action, as if the PC is struggling to switch these huge frames so quickly. It plays just fine in Windows media classic.

My specs:

QX6700
2.5GB ram
Dual 8800gtx (not SLI)
150GB 10k rpm raptor (where VLC is installed)
RAID 0+1 array for media (off which the video files are being played off).

Try this: select VLC and go to Tools > Preferences > (tab) Input / Codecs > (tab) Other codecs > FFmpeg > (check the "Advanced Options" box) you should see something that says "Skip the loop filter for H.264 decoding", select the box next to it and choose "All", save and restart VLC media player.

It helped a bit with 720p videos, but its still noticeable sometimes. 1080p videos are still really noticeable.

Whats weird is that it only does this on my TV, which is connected as a 4th monitor via a 20FT DVI cable, and only happens in full screen mode. I can watch the videos file on the other 3 monitors, but not the 1080p TV. As I mentioned earlier, its fine in MPC, even on the TV.

Hmm. Try this: Select VLC and go to: Tools > Preferences > Video > disable "Overlay video output", save and restart VLC.

Nope, that didnt work either.

I wouldn't expect the Overlay option to help. In fact it may hinder the issue some. Check your Task Manager for CPU usage.

Note: VLC does not support Dual CPUs nor do most other players audio and video codecs.
