Streaming from home network one pc to another

Postby simonwilliams » 01 May 2007 14:35

Sorry if this has been discussed, I did a search but found nowt.

I have a media PC in my lounge & everything plays through videolan. This PC connects to my internet PC which is in the loft via wifi. Occasionally I'll want to watch a file that is on my loft PC but playing it will causes a freeze every 20 seconds or so as the file is sent through.

Is there any way to get videolan to buffer some of the video before it starts playing, kinda like timeshift? I've had a look in the Open Network Stream section but to be honest couldn't make heards or tails of what to do?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.
